Why Europe’s Cellphone System is Looser Than Ours

Wow, this would be great for North America, or even the just the US. But Americans avoid at all costs the FCC stepping in and regulating anything we currently have a choice with. I doubt very seriously that Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, and such are ever going to meet and compromise on a "standard".
