D.C. region losing its Southern accent

I've lived around the DC area for most of my life, and the southern accent has been gone for years. Maybe 100 years ago it may been prevailent. You have to go into rural Viginia, West Virginia, or Pennsylvania to get any real accents. The fact is that most of the areas population has been transplanted from all over the country, if not the world.

A good article worth sharing
