Taken from the pages of "you can't make this stuff up." Where do these bozo's come from? It's not an invasion if we get the Mexican governments approval, which is what he proposed. Like we need another war to fight.
The first paragraph sums it up nicely "...looking to the Republicans to put their money where there mouths are: if they won't vote for affordable care for all Americans, they should refuse their own government health care plans as well."
Absurd seems to evolve to something worse every day. Do the leader of the state of Arizona forget what country they are in? Maybe we should deport them to Mexico and see how fast their prejudices change. May send them to Cuba and political prisoners. Personally I think they should arrest and try them for terrorism. What they are doing is no different, maybe even worse that terrorism. They are trying to tear the very fabric of our country, attempting to disrupt and spread discord throughout the country. If that's not a threat to our national security, then we might as well take down the American Flag and lets these radicals do what they want. Ever seen the movie The Postman?
I could not disagree more. Far be it for me to defend Sarah Palin, but I liked the show. In fact, I tend to loathe reality shows altogether. But this one is different. Imagine if you invited the cameras into your house to see everything, unrehearsed. I know I couldn't do it, not that anyone would be interested. But few of us could endure something so invasive.
I admit that when John McCain announced her as his running mate in the 2008 election, I was optimistic that she could change some thing in Washington. Maybe because she is a woman, maybe because she WAS an unknown and would not tolerate the in-fighting among the parties. Then she spoke, and that beautiful face and nice curves all fell to the floor. She would go on the be the mouth piece of the Republican Party, and in the interim cause the McCain ticket to lose to Barack Obama. That is, IMHO!
Let's fast forward to November 14th, 2010. The setting is rural Alaska. A "trying to be" normal family heads out on a fishing trip. Along the way they see some grizzly bears. the next day they do some hiking. They have this new neighbor whom they believe is just there to spy on them. Gossip gossip gossip at the fence line. Sounds fairly normal to me. No one says anything about Gene Simmons promoting himself in his reality show, Family Jewels.
On many levels you have to appreciate the pureness of their family. Maybe the naysayers are jealous because they are not as dysfunctional as they'd like them to be. Till' now most of what we know about their family centered around the eldest daughter (Bristol), her estranged boyfriend, and their child. The press had fun with that one.
Now we get to see "Mrs. Palin", wife and mother. She's the family voice, and probably has ADHD. We get to see "Mr. Palin", Todd, husband and father. We've always seen him as the quiet supportive half we never hear from. Seems he hold true to that as a very soft spoken, but strong mate. She even comments about that in the first episode.
Let's also not forget their youngest child is handicapped. I know from first hand experience that no matter how much money you have or who you are, raising them is no easy task. No matter what you do, just about every major family decision has that invisible umbilical cord attached to it. As a parent, my hat is off to her.
So, if people want to make political conjecture out of the show, well they don't have to watch it.
I'm just sitting here doing something between laughing and contemplating how utterly stupid and ridiculous this is. Can you imagine a protester wearing a costume like that in your town? Don't we have obscenity laws? And why would they ban such a thing as circumcision anyhow, especially in babies? There's no grown man, boy, or toddler that would in their right mind want to go through it and have to remember the trauma. Religious reasons, maybe, but that's an entirely different argument. This is just absurd, and as the saying goes, "you can't make this stuff up".
I'm not sure what to make of this article. It's more humorous than anything else. Since I don;t have a Facebook account of my own (I post to my daughters), and I do have an Autistic son, the article seems to poke fun at the zomby practice of sitting in front of the computer for endless hours playing Farmville and the like. It has a faint smell of something out of Star Trek: The Next Generation, an episode called "The Game. Most of us can already do Facebook on our phones and other mobile devices, although I don't think you can do the games on your phone... yet.
At a local Air Show a few years back, they had a display of battlefield equipment that had communications built-in to the helmet and goggles that give a soldier instant access to anything he (or she) needs including the internet. Pie in the sky? Still a dream on the drawing board? I don't know, but when (and maybe it already exists) the public has access to a device like the on used in the "The Game", as they say "the game" is over and we will all be walking zombies, slaves to the "autistic network".
This is a good concise history lesson on what is Veterans Day. I will be first to admin that have grown to see it as just a day off in the middle of the work week. After 28 years of serving in and around the military, this is not something I should be proud of. Far too many Veterans Days went by that I did have to work, either on watch while in uniform or just a regular work day for the company I worked for. And I also recall a few of them having to do special Veterans Day activities such as parades and special ceremonies. While other years I visited soldiers I was responsible for when they had to work on Veterans Day (just like we did for Christmas, Thanksgiving, and other holidays).
I'm by no means an animal rights activist, a vegetarian, or anything close to really caring about animal rights. This article, however, really, hot me hard. I am the proud owner of a Siberian Husky, and I have two other mutts of questionable breed that I care for. But the thought of using a stray dog to conduct a terrorist attack is hard to swallow. Not to mention the intended target and the dogs life. What's more shocking is the extent our enemies will go to strike at us. These people are truly evil and have no conscience, no moral compass, no sense of right and wrong.
